Hochgeladen am 24.04.2008

Hedy Hirsch was fifteenwhen she secretly fled to Hungary with her mother. Her father had already beensent to Auschwitz and was never heard from again. Living in hiding for twoyears in Budapest, Hedy and her mother slept every night in a differentabandoned building or cemetery. The two were arrested while attempting to crossback into Slovakia and were also sent to Auschwitz. Finding themselvesconstantly facing death, they were determined to stay together, no matter thecost. They were subjected to hard labor and sent on a death march, but theyboth survived and came to Israel in 1949.
